Authorities in Spain have apprehended three individuals at the Algeciras port while they were preparing to board a ferry to Tangier. The suspects, two women aged 20 and 66 of Moroccan nationality and a 42-year-old Spanish man from Ceuta, were found in possession of a laptop that had been reported stolen from Guadalupe Sánchez, an attorney representing Alberto González Amador, the partner of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the President of the Community of Madrid.

The Guardia Civil also recovered a tablet belonging to Sánchez's son among the stolen items. The theft was reported on January 10 after Sánchez discovered the break-in at her second home in Guardamar, Alicante. Initially, law enforcement viewed the incident as common theft; however, after Sánchez informed them that the laptop contained sensitive legal documents related to her client's defense, the investigation was escalated.

The investigation is now being led by the Organic Unit of Judicial Police in Alicante, where the initial complaint was filed. The suspects are believed to have previously been involved in tobacco smuggling and may have been utilized by larger criminal organizations to transport stolen goods across the border into Morocco.

Details surrounding the theft were first revealed by El Confidencial, which also linked it to another burglary involving an attorney for González Amador. This earlier incident, which took place in Toledo, resulted in minimal loss as the burglars were unable to take much due to an alarm activation. The attorney, Carlos Neira, who has been involved in negotiating a plea deal for González Amador, reported the incident to the authorities.

In a public statement, President Ayuso addressed media inquiries regarding the recent thefts affecting her associates, suggesting these events are part of a larger "state operation" aimed at her and her circle. In response to questions regarding the series of burglaries targeting her close associates, Miguel Tellado, the parliamentary spokesperson for the Popular Party (PP), expressed concerns about the nature of governance, suggesting there are elements akin to organized crime at play.

On the same day, The Objective, the media outlet where attorney Guadalupe Sánchez contributes, published an article titled "Strange Burglary at the Homes of Ayuso's Associates," featuring a sketch reportedly drawn by González Amador depicting a suspicious vehicle he believed had been following him.

Further reports from El Confidencial revealed that there had been an unauthorized entry into González Amador's vehicle; however, the alleged theft was not reported, and only a small amount of cash remained untouched. Police sources indicated that, as of the time of reporting, there was no formal complaint regarding the attempted break-in.

This series of incidents also includes a burglary at the home of an architect who had worked on renovations for Ayuso and González Amador. This architect is currently facing allegations of tax fraud and document forgery, with separate legal proceedings underway concerning corruption and mismanagement.
