Errejón's Defense Claims Continued Communication with Mouliaá Post-Allegations

New developments have emerged in the case against Íñigo Errejón, who faces accusations of sexual assault from actress Elisa Mouliaá. According to Errejón's defense team, they have submitted a notarized document and a technical report that purport to prove ongoing conversations between the accused and the accuser via Instagram even after the alleged incidents, which Mouliaá has subsequently deleted.

The legal representation of Mouliaá has requested the judge to obtain Sumar's internal investigation into the former deputy, as well as testimonies from those involved in that inquiry, as indicated in documents obtained by the media.

Both parties first appeared in court on January 16 following Mouliaá's October allegations of unwanted touching at a party in 2021. The week following their initial court appearance, both legal teams presented documentation and requested various actions from the judge to support their respective narratives. Mouliaá claims she experienced non-consensual touches and kisses from Errejón on three separate occasions during the same night, while Errejón asserts that the interactions were consensual.

To substantiate his claims, Errejón's defense has submitted several pieces of documentation to the court, including the notarized act and the technical report detailing a timeline of communications that began in August 2019 and continued until April 2023, when Mouliaá allegedly sought legal advice from Errejón concerning a matter involving her ex-husband. Mouliaá has stated that this matter involved allegations of domestic abuse and non-consensual sexual relations, which were ultimately dismissed for lack of consistency in her statements.

Errejón's defense asserts that the technical report demonstrates that Mouliaá deleted all messages sent to Errejón after the night in question, leaving only those messages in which he responded. They also claim that a message referencing a concert was deleted after Mouliaá filed her complaint.

In addition, the defense has requested that the judge summon witnesses, including Mouliaá's friends who organized the party where the alleged incidents took place, as well as a person named "Fernando," who was mentioned by Mouliaá during her testimony and in a television appearance. Furthermore, they are seeking records from the Madrid Court of Violence Against Women regarding the proceedings involving Mouliaá's ex-husband for domestic violence and sexual assault.

The defense team is also interested in obtaining details from Mediaset and various production companies about Mouliaá's contracts and earnings from her television appearances, particularly one that occurred the day after her testimony in court. They are requesting all video footage of Mouliaá's television appearances to check for potential inconsistencies between her statements in court and those made on television.

In this context, Errejón's defense has included various social media posts by Mouliaá made after the allegations, which they claim she deleted shortly thereafter, including one that publicly shared a WhatsApp conversation with a friend who helped organize the party.

Meanwhile, Mouliaá's attorney, Alfredo Arrién, has urged the judge to request Sumar's internal investigation into Errejón to ascertain any possible instances of misogynistic behavior and psychological or sexual abuse towards various victims. He has also requested that those responsible for the investigation testify in court and present any evidence that could corroborate the claims in the current case.

Furthermore, Mouliaá's legal team intends to submit two expert reports--one in psychiatry and another in psychology--and a technical report to verify the WhatsApp conversations held between Mouliaá and other witnesses, along with two excerpts of these conversations.

In one of the excerpts, Mouliaá describes to a friend her account of the events from the night of the alleged incident, detailing how she felt pressured by Errejón. She recounts, among other details, that when they arrived at Errejón's home, he attempted to continue the advances, prompting her to assert herself and stop his advances.

Additionally, Mouliaá's representation has requested that several individuals who were present during the alleged assault be summoned as witnesses, including her father and brother.
