Judge Postpones Hearing of Ayuso's Partner for the Fourth Time Due to Work Commitment

The ongoing legal proceedings involving Alberto González Amador, the partner of Isabel Díaz Ayuso, the President of the Community of Madrid, have hit another snag as Judge Inmaculada Iglesias has postponed his scheduled testimony set for February 7, due to a prior work commitment.

According to a ruling made by the judge, which was accessed by Europa Press, the decision to delay the hearing was made following a request from Amador's legal team. They argued that he had a scheduling conflict with another court appearance on the same day in the Court of First Instance Number 46, coupled with a previously arranged business trip between February 4 and February 12.

The judge has also directed that the defense's suspension request be communicated to the Public Prosecutor's Office and other involved parties, who are expected to respond within five days regarding the request to delay the hearings until the Provincial Court of Madrid resolves the appeal against the order that led to the opening of a separate investigation into potential additional offenses committed by González Amador.

Last week, the judge had summoned Amador to provide testimony alongside other individuals under investigation in the case, prompted by a request from the public prosecutor, who noted that the investigation was set to conclude by March.

This latest postponement follows a similar delay in November, when the judge suspended a planned hearing that was initially set for November 29. This earlier delay was also a result of a request from Amador's attorney, who sought a postponement until the Provincial Court could rule on the legality of the previous order that opened a separate investigation into other alleged offenses.

In their argument, the defense contended that both the main case and the separate investigation share a fundamental issue that impacts not only the tax settlement in question but also the broader scope of the separate investigation.

The hearings were originally scheduled for June 24 but were pushed back due to a request from the public prosecutor, representing the PSOE and Más Madrid, to investigate five additional alleged offenses following an analysis of a report from the Tax Agency.

In October, the judge decided to initiate a separate investigation to determine whether Amador and Ayuso's partner had engaged in distinct criminal activities beyond those being examined in the main case, specifically regarding the alleged use of a company to hide income from Quirón Group.

The inquiry is rooted in findings from the Tax Agency, which flagged an allegedly fraudulent operation in 2021, suggesting that Amador may have utilized a shell company (Masterman S.L.) to facilitate a partial assignment of a service contract between his company, Maxwell Cremona, and Quirón Prevención S.L.
