Munich. For many months Bavarian students have being demanding free of charge study in Bavarian Universities and more decisive power in the higher education bodies. Similar student associations already exist in many regions in Germany. These associations give students more power in participation of the creation of the study schedules and the distribution of budget funds, reports Sueddeutsche Zeitung. The painful subject of study fees was another point of the students' protest on Wednesday, 13.01. The demonstration in Munich moved from Sendlinger Tor in the direction of Odeonsplatz. In front of the building of the Education Ministry students whistled and banged drums. Education Minister Wolfgang Heubisch (FDP) met student representatives from all over Bavaria at the ministry. The minister's reaction was calm. The students consider the protest as an important step: they said that in any event 2010 will be a year of student protests until they see action from the government.
