Munich. Not an olympian but still: Munich's mayor Christian Ude received a gold medal.

For distinguished services for local autonomy, Munichs mayor, Christian Ude, is honoured with the golden communal medal of merit. Ude receives - after 17 years in office - the award on monday the 5th of July from home secretary Joachim Herrmann. Another 16 dedicated local and former politicians will be awarded the silver medal, according to the Home Office on wednesday.
