Munich. On Saturday night the city turned off the lights to its main attractions for one hour.  As in more than 4,300 other cities in 125 countries, the environmental group WWF in Munich had their symbolic climate action "Earth Hour".

Additionally there was a procession with lights from Sendlinger Tor to Odeonsplatz. But at Marienplatz the fans of Loewen club joined for a peaceful demonstration against climate change. The fans were calling for a climate-neutral stadium.  The spokesman Daniel Grassold said that they wanted to get out of the Grünwald stadium.

The Green Youth took the opportunity to protest against the extension of nuclear power plants. "Isar 1 must be closed immediately, because scientific studies have shown construction weak points," said Chairman Catherine Schulze. "No state creates as much electricity from nuclear energy as Bavaria, thus slowing the boom industries based on wind, solar and biomass energy.
